Another 900 words on ‘The Giant’, making for nearly 19,000 words total. We are inching towards the close. When this is done, it’ll be my longest complete story to date (although Cyborgs and Androids is still the thing I’ve scored the most words on by far – one day I’ll return to that, but I have so many other, shorter projects to work on atm).
It doesn’t feel that way, but it’s been a fairly productive day, writingwise. I’ve also made some progress on the thesis, too. As always, though, there is more work to be done. Think I’ll be really pleased when ‘The Giant’ is finished. It’ll be a real milestone. Not to mention the fact that it’s been hanging around in my brain for the last 6 years, and it’s time it found another home. ‘The Giant’ was one of my projects last Autumn, when I took a break from my PhD to catch my breath and give some of my creative projects some nurture. I’d really like to finally see the fruits of that time materialise as something productive.
Reckon there’s still another 2,000 or so words to go, but we are definitely getting there.
